Cassia

Cassia is a German-bred import from Hanover and embodies the perfect blend of Trakehner refinement blood with an exceptional Hanoverian mare base. Cassia has the most beautiful type, a great neck-set and very harmonious top line and impresses everybody with her sweet, loving nature. Her movement is marked by very good elasticity and impulsion, which she passes on to her offspring.

The sire EH Caprimond (pictured left) is an institution among stallions, not only in the Trakehner breed. He was the reserve champion of his approvals, winner of the 100 day test in Adelheitsdorf with the highest dressage index, reserve champion at the Bundeschampionat and a Grand Prix winner in the show ring. Caprimond sired over 120 Trakehner main stud book mares and many Hanoverian and Oldenburg brood mares as well, and has always stood out across the breeds for his exceptional type, conformation and work ethics. Among his many approved sons, the Trakehner EH Hohenstein stands out most.

Hohenstein's influence in Hanover is already big and continues to grow. His daughters rank first in type and riding horse points and numerous offspring have qualified for the bundeschampionat in the dressage classes, both from the Hanoverian as well as Trakehner breed. In Hanover, his sons His Highness (champion in Verden), Hochadel (Celle State Stud), High Spirits, Harvard and more have been approved and continue this successful ine of sport horses. A line that was founded by the Trakehner stallion EH Arogno, a son of legendary Flaneur out of the Irish TB mare Arcticonius xx. Arogno's son Karon, the sire of Caprimond, also produced the approved Beaujolais, Gadsby and Schmapus and was leased to Oldenburg's Klatte station when he died after an accident. He has had significant influence in Hanover and Oldenburg with a variety of excellent daughters, e.g.the St Pr St Kim, who produced the approved stallions Rosenthal and Rubin Magic (both by Rubinstein I).

In terms of competition, the Caprimond-line is very popular among dressage riders around the world, because very high rideability, easy minds and the willto please seem to be dominant features. Hohenstein's first crop of sons included the 1997 Trakehner champion stallion EH Münchhausen TSF, who is now competing internationally on the Danish A-Team with appearances at the CHIO Aachen in 2005 and 2006 and the European Dressage Championships in Hagen 2005. From the younger generation, it is the black Trakehner Insterburg TSF, the bronze medalist at both the FEI Young Horse World Championships as well as the 6 year old division of the Bundeschampionat that is holding up this line. The black stallion is approved for almost all German warmblood registires and is already leaving a stamp.

On the dam side of this pedigree we find an equally legendary sire, the chestnut Weltmeyer (pictured right). Champion in Hanover, champion of his 100 day test, champion of the DLG show and trained through advanced levels in dressage, he was one of Hanover's most popular stallions for the past 15 years. Weltmeyer sired uncounted approved sons, but even more valuable, he is the sire of over 300 registered broodmares that are high in demand and it has become clear in the past that the best Weltmeyer influence comes via the dam: Londonderry comes to mind, or the full brothers Loxley I and II. In the competition world, Weltmeyer's offspring have reached international Grand Prix status, among them the exciting Weltall VA (M. Schaudt/GER), Wie Weltmeyer (E. Hindle/GBR) and the currently best Mexican dressage horse, Vincent (B. Pujals/MEX).

The line further continues via the top Hanoverian sport horse producer Eiger I (pictured left), who was Hanover's Stallion of the Year in 1999, and who is especially important as sire of the world class show jumper Esprit FRH (L. Nieberg/GER). Eiger I produced 35 St Pr mares in Hanover and left 7 approved sons, of which Esprit was able to put this originally TB-founded line back into business in Hanover. The E/A line was originally founded by the TB stallion Adeptus xx (by Adonis xx out of Liane xx by Blenheim xx), who stood at stud in Celle for 10 years between 1894 and 1904. With the foundation of the A-line via Abglanz in the 50s, the Adeptus xx-line changed to the letter E, and is furthermore represented by Egmont, Eichendorff, the three full brother Eiger I-III, Eisenfarn, Eisenglanz, Eisprinz, Eisvogel, and Eistanz, among other.

Finally, we would like to point out that Cassia's direct maternal family has also produced the current Celle State Stud stallion Edingburgh.
